A Bad Start

My cat climbed up on the bed with me this morning and sneezed in my face six times in quick succession.

Hopefully, that is not indicative of how the rest of the day will progress.

Ah...A warm intimate moment with your kitty. I used to have a big orange cat named Jasper, but he moved on to one of his other lives. I didn't realize I'd miss those moments.

Coincidentally, this is also a big orange cat (albeit one with three legs). He's a big love bug. I would miss him desperately if he kicked it. Hey, you can always get another, unless of course your wife is allergic. We have many folks who can't visit because even vacumming, dusting, and putting the kitties in the cellar doesn't stop the allergy triggers. :(

No allergies, but I'm going cold turkey on pets for now. I don't want a kitten keeping us awake for months before (God willing) a baby keeps us awake for months. The good thing about cats is they agree we should all just stay inside and be warm in the winter. About 20 times a week, my constructively perfect wife talks about getting a puppy but gets suspiciously quiet whenever I raise the issue of walking it on bitter February mornings.

We have solved the "walking" problem by agreeing that I will receive a stuffed dog for Christmas. I miss our warm kitty, though.

My parents once had a German shepherd that would wake them up in the morning by aiming his backside at their pillows and breaking wind.

I hope your day got better later.

Since we're talking pets, I would like to take this moment to prattle on endlessly about my new puppy. Not really, though that's what I feel like I've been doing to everybody lately. I will say that the little guy has a flawless internal body clock; he is awake at 7:00 on the freaking nose every morning, weekend or no.

I say, any excuse to talk new puppy! Everyone should go and look at the photos of this adorable fellow.

One of our 3 cats gets to sleep with us because the other 2 terrorize her, and because she will freak out if locked away from us and keep us up all night. She, too, will usually be up at about 6.30 to go and pee and have her breakfast. It's a nice routine.
